About Us
Taking its name from the River Thames that flows alongside the historic town of Marlow., our Club were created by Marlow Rotary Club to solve the difficulty that some members who were unable to attend lunchtime meetings due to work/life commitments were experiencing.
The club was founded in 1997 and currently has in excess of 30 members both male and female with ages ranging from mid thirties to over seventy.
We meet weekly at the Kings Head Public House in Little Marlow on Wednesday evenings. Our meetings start at 7.45pm, but there is always someone in the bar from 7.30pm. We enjoy a two course meal at every meeting which is then followed by a full and varied diary of events. These may include an invited speaker, a discussion on a topic of interest or a fellowship activity. It is always worth checking before you visit as occasionally we meet off-site.
In addition to the club meetings there is a varied programme of social activities for members and their families to take part in. These have included a Petanque evening, trip to the Windsor races, summer BBQ, theatre trip and so much more!
Of course we would not be a Rotary Club without the work that we do in the local community, nationally and internationally. We are proud to have supported many individuals and charities. For a list of the charities to which we have donated funds please visit the Charities section on the Cookham Regatta page.
Our main fundraising event in the calendar is the Cookham Regatta, held on the first Saturday in September. This event we organise jointly with the Rotary Club of Cookham Bridge. A wonderful day out for all the family with a range of water events from Dongolas to Dragon Boats plus lots of landside attractions. For more information click on Cookham Regatta.
We always welcome visitors to our Club, so please come along and join us. Whether a guest to Rotary or fellow Rotarian, you will always be made most welcome. We look forward to meeting you!
